Houston
experimental rock band Starry Night
This months featured artist is called
Starry Night. This band has been
on the scene a while and has plenty of experience in satisfying fans of
hard-edged experimental psychedelic rock. Starfyre is the vocalist and bassist for the trio and
she is supported skillfully.
Starry Night has made quite
a buzz on the local scene here in Galveston County and
their first self titled CD was
produced by David Lazarus of
Lazarus X and was a huge underground hit with local
fans. They are edgy and experimental but yet the melodies and themes are very
accessible. Starfyre's energetic vocals combined with wild freestyle guitar
riffs and driving drum beats and hard edged rhythms have made quite an impression with audiences.
With influences ranging from
Jimi Hendrix, No Doubt, Joplin and the Doors to more modern influences,
this band pulls them all together to deliver a sonically challenging and
simultaneously pleasing experience.
As of press time the group
has just started recording their self titled CD. If you would like to buy a CD
