Faceplant
- Houston hard rock / nu-metal band
From Houston's south side,
Faceplant has been together for over six years and has a reputation as a force
on the national music scene. Loud and energetic with tons of raw energy and an
infectious hook this band is well on its way to breaking nationally in a big way
but they still make the time to play locally as much as possible. At a recent
show at the Scout Bar in
Nasa they burned up the stage (and the upstairs
bar) with a powerhouse performance of all their best songs.
With endorsement deals from Jagermeister,
Hurley Clothing, and Red Bull, the band fired up an old tour bus and hit the
road in 2002. Faceplant has now toured in 30 states and 150 cities taking their
contagious live show directly to the national fans who have responded with great
enthusiasm.
Faceplant's brand of hip hop influenced hard rock music and
energetic live shows (with two emcees launching off of trampolines while holding
up signs with the lyrics scrawled on them) has shared the stage with national
acts such as Drowning Pool, 40 Below Summer, Ill Nino, Saliva, Breaking
Benjamin, & Otep as part of the Jagermeister Music Tour, while supporting other
dates with Creed, The Foo Fighters, Our Lady Peace, 2 Live Crew, Fenix TX,
Mighty Joe Plum, The Hunger, Chlorine, and the Bloodhound Gang.
Their CD "Get Some" features some of the best
tracks from the band which have been remixed by producer Kevin Beamish of REO
Speedwagon, Jefferson Airplane, and Jefferson Starship fame. Some standout
tracks include Give it Up, Houston Weather, Here I am, Party Starter, and many
others. The band now has has help in its mission to make it big. They have
enlisted a management company and landed a publishing deal with EMI Music Group
in 2002. Well on its way to a place at the national table this band is still
playing their hearts out to local fans an for that reason among others they are
out artist of the month for April 2004.
