This huge venue used to be a grocery store before it was
stripped to make this huge venue for events. Many big names have graced the
stage here including Tool, Primus, Sex Pistols, Corrosion of Conformity, Megadeth,
Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails, Black Crowes, Sonic Youth, Rage against
the Machine and other notables. The International Ballroom is massive and usually is the venue of
choice when someone's too big for a local club and too small for Compaq center.
Shows are thrown sporadically so call before going out unless you want to waste
a trip.
Seating is not a problem here since there are no seats. Most of
the time but you might want to avoid the stage if you don't want to get swept up
in the pit but other than that this place is wide open. Alcohol and T-shirts are
sold from side tables but other than that it is usually pretty bare bones. The
crowd can be a bit rough at times so expect to be frisked at the door. The
drinks are a bit steep and its a bit of a drive but other than that not a bad
place if you want to throw a fairly large concert.

may call it like we see it. All reviews
are based on unannounced visits to the clubs in
question. We have set for ourselves the lofty goal of creating a local music
community in the Houston area to allow great bands who originate here to stay
here and further their music career. To further this goal
we must have great live music clubs to support these local artists.
